In the Kazan Volunteer Center, there has been launched a computer literacy program for elderly clients of Hesed Moshe.
The program is conducted by Arkady Lifshits, the volunteer of the center. He equipped the whole training class with computers; he bought second-hand laptops, repaired them and brought them for training.
Classes are held 1 time per week for 2 hours. Age of participants range between 70 and 90 years. The main goal of the project is to learn the way to use social networks, the website of public services, Skype and Internet search engines.
The project participants adapt to the realities of the modern world with great pleasure and diligence. Most of them make the first steps in studying the computer. The project allows older people to learn how to navigate the Internet and not to feel lonely.
